Sagrado Corazón de Jesus in Nambe
The Sagrado Corazón de Jesus church is located in Nambe, and is 2 miles east of Highway 84/285 on NM 503. This church was one of the first established in the area, and has a lot of history behind its walls. Unfortunately, the Sagrado Corazón de Jesus church was burned down during Holy Week in 1946, but was quickly rebuilt with the help of the community.
This church is also a welcome sight to folks who annually make the pilgrimage to El Santuario de Chimayo during Holy Week, and especially during Good Friday. The beauty of this church is known throughout New Mexico, and various artists can be frequently seen painting this church and its surroundings.
